How WhatsApp pricing works for recipients in France

WhatsApp Business Platform charges for messages delivered to recipients in France, regardless of where the sending business or its Business Solution Provider is located. For the current rate card, marketing messages to France are $0.0859 each. Marketing is always chargeable, including during an open 24-hour customer service window, unless the conversation is inside Meta's separate 72-hour free-entry period. Marketing also receives no monthly volume discount. That makes correct template classification important: a message treated as marketing will keep the same published rate even when monthly delivery volume becomes large.

Utility pricing for France is progressive: $0.0300 from 0 chargeable messages, then $0.0285 from 1,00,001 chargeable messages, then $0.0270 from 10,00,001 chargeable messages, then $0.0255 from 45,00,001 chargeable messages, then $0.0240 from 4,00,00,001 chargeable messages, then $0.0225 from 8,00,00,001 chargeable messages. Only chargeable utility messages count toward those monthly thresholds. A utility template sent while the recipient has an open 24-hour customer service window is free, and the calculator removes that free volume before applying the tiers. Messages covered by a free entry point are removed first as well, preventing the same message from being counted twice. The service-window percentage is therefore one of the most useful inputs when estimating a real operation rather than simply multiplying total volume by the first listed rate.

Domestic authentication messages for France use their own tier schedule: $0.0300 from 0 chargeable messages, then $0.0285 from 3,00,001 chargeable messages, then $0.0270 from 20,00,001 chargeable messages, then $0.0255 from 1,00,00,001 chargeable messages, then $0.0240 from 2,00,00,001 chargeable messages, then $0.0225 from 4,00,00,001 chargeable messages. Authentication templates remain chargeable inside the normal 24-hour service window, but they become free during an eligible 72-hour free-entry period. Authentication tiers reset monthly and are calculated independently from utility tiers, even when both categories go to recipients in France.
